Islay Old School Cottages
Islay Old School Cottages – Beautiful cottages Beinn Mhor and Beinn Bhan offer traditional yet luxurious self catering accommodation. An ideal place to relax and enjoy your holiday in comfort.
Beinn Mhor
Beinn Mhor – Gaelic for the Big Mountain. A two-storey cottage with four double bedrooms, one of which is on the ground floor. It sleeps eight people.
The decor in the luxuriously furnished lounge is simple but tasteful with french doors leading out to a decking area with panoramic views of Carriag Fhada Lighthouse, Kilnaughton Bay and The Oa.
It’s the ideal place to eat al fresco in fine weather and to indulge in the fresh, locally procured seafood or beef which you can prepare yourself in the large, fully-equipped dining kitchen.
Should the rain begin to fall gently on the machair, as it sometimes inevitably does, you can indulge yourself after a game of golf or a stimulating walk and stravaig back home for a refreshingly warm shower.
You can make up and spruce up for a night’s entertainment, which often includes live music, in one of the local public houses.
The cottage has a downstairs WC, a large family shower room and one en-suite off the sumptuous master bedroom. There is also a generously proportioned utility room where you and your family and friends can clean and store your golfing, fishing, hill walking, boating or cycling gear.
