Bridgend Hotel, Isle of Islay – Located at the “Heart of Islay” offering excellent facilities for the more discerning traveller. Opened a century and a half ago, they aim to provide the original Islay experience to all customers, offering a warm, friendly and professional service; not only to those staying here, but also to those dining or enjoying a drink in one of the Bars.
The Hotel is an ideal base for business or pleasure. Resident guests have complimentary access to bank fishing and preferential rates for boats on Islay Estates’ famously fertile trout fishing lochs, with boats on several lochs including the renowned Loch Gorm and the historic Loch Finlaggan, once the seat of power of the Lords of the Isles.
Dining
Katie’s Bar, named after our retired 80 year old barmaid, offers a warm, welcoming, relaxed atmosphere, whether you are calling in to relax in front of the wood burning stove and sample the wares of our well stocked bar or wanting a more informal surrounding for lunch or dinner after a day’s activity on Islay. Katie’s Bar provides a delicious bar menu of reasonably priced local and seasonal produce and our bar has a selection of house wines, Islay Ales, draft and bottled beers, local whiskies and Islay’s own dry gin – The Botanist – distilled just along the road at Bruichladdich Distillery. Our helpful and friendly staff are keen to offer a relaxed and informal service and children are welcome with their parents up until 9.00pm.
We welcome well behaved dogs in Katie’s Bar.
